Selet started construction of its facilities in November 2008 on a 6,000 m2 plot located 20 kilometers outside of Addis Ababa. The factory consists of a raw material warehouse, sesame cleaning line, sesame dry-hulling line and a finished product warehouse with a total square area of 2,200 m2. The factory's facilities have been built according to international food standards and are fully organic (Control Union) and ISO 22.000:2005 (DQS) certified.

Selet uses high-quality and state-of-the-art machinery for its processes. The machinery of the cleaning line has been purchased in Denmark and the equipment for the hulling line comes from Spain, the USA, the Netherlands and China. Both lines have been designed to deliver an optimal product to our clients throughout the world. The method used is dry-hulling, which has advantages over the more traditional wet hulling methods, mainly because of lower water consumption and consequent less impact on the environment. In the factory, rain water is collected and used for the hulling process. To ensure a top-quality product the water used in Seletís factory is filtered in multiple steps and UV treated before entering the machine line.

An intensively trained factory staff ensures quality products, efficient product handling and on-time deliveries. This, together with the set-up production systems, good manufacturing and hygiene practices guarantees the timely delivery of top-quality products.
